I have heard of Tmux but have never used it. Just did some refresher googling around and it looks like something worth giving a try! C-b instead of C-a is probably going to knock a couple of years off my life though 😀

That reminds me. I need to get back to trying it of these days. Last time I looked into tmux, I was on Kubuntu 16.04 LTS and the offered tmux version was too old to support the two-line statusbar design I was using with Screen.

I'll still need to keep Screen around as my preferred terminal emulator for serial consoles, since that's explicitly one of the "obsolete features tmux omits to keep things cleaner and more maintainable", but I'll give it a try sooner or later.
