    Seriously, what's left to do in order to release GIMP 3.0?

      Good question, it is so long awaited. I believe the GIMP team is seriously understaffed, it is just a handful of volunteers. I really wish they had more manpower and full-time employees like Blender.

      I just tried out GIMP nightly build and managed to get it to crash within a few minutes, but overall it felt pretty stable. Some months ago it was notoriously unstable.

          At this point, I wonder if they will beat Duke Nukem Forever's record with regards to the GTK3 port…

              I gave up waiting like 5-10 years ago.

                1. GtkAction -> GAction rewrite
                2. Possibly some more API fixes
                3. Some more UI fixes and improvements (e.g. theming options need to be enhanced)
                4. General cleanup, bugfixes

                    You gave up waiting "...5-10 years ago"? Well, at least you learned.
                    Some people have been waiting twelve years for LibreOffice to deliver, and still are. And keep on sending them money...which LibreOffice' s management does NOT use for any development.

                    At least you learned...
