It's been eleven years, now. The Document Foundation has done NOTHING in ELEVEN YEARS to get it right. Except for eleven years' worth of 'hype'. Oh--and eleven years' worth of taking your money (from all you people who are gullible enough--and there are a lot of you--to send money to TDF) because you think--absolutely incorrectly--that TDF will use your money to pay developers to correct all the wrongs with LibreOffice. When pressed for an answer on this, TDF will--VERY quietly and reluctantly--tell you that it (TDF) is legally constrained, by its charter, from spending any money on the development of the product!

So why are then constantly tenders by TDF to do work adding missing features (that improve compatibility with OOXML) and/or highly needed core features. For example - tender to implement dynamic-diagram feature (aka. SmartArt) [1], which is missing currently in LO, or auto-updater [2] or refactoring a problematic part of core [3]. This release includes the object inspector, which was funded by TDF [4] for example and in the past the work to make LibreOffice support features added into ODF 1.3 [5].

So what you are saying is factually incorrct as always.

...assuming you're referring to that set of software packages which are actually supposed to do something useful; in actually providing a real solution--rather than introducing more problems--and not spending more resources on 'hype' rather than on actual productive design.

Are you beginning to get some idea as to why it's taken eleven years for LibreOffice to go nowhere? Are you beginning to get some idea as to the fact that, if you have sent donations to TDF, you have been taken for a fool?

When did you say your NEXT donation to TDF, for all your hoped-for improvements to LibreOffice, is scheduled to occur?

As one columnist puts it every time TDF comes out with a "new" release of LibreOffice:

I've been using the development versions of 7.2 for a few weeks and am impressed. This is definitely the best at MS Office compatibility that I've seen from LO. And the interface has gotten to the point where it is quite useful and even a bit elegant in its design.
