One note about Skanlite: It is not *the* KDE scanning app, it is *a* KDE scanning app. A new one is in the works which supports multi-page PDF scanning too, called Skanpage. Check it out, it's pretty great already. Its developers also worked on Skanlite, and it uses the same backend library, so it has pretty much the same features, plus a few extras of its own. I expect it to largely replace Skanlite in the future.

As someone who came here to write a comment along the lines of "sadly, Skanlite is the only KDE app I can't use because for some weird reason it doesn't support multi-page PDF scanning like e.g. Gnome's Document Scanner does (which is my go-to scanning app)" I'd say that's great news indeed.

It's not ready for a first release quite yet. https://www.reddit.com/r/kde/comment...e_application/

Looks like some really helpful fixes coming. Good to see #417939 fixed as well, though some time until it's in a release.

KDE 5.22.2 is behaving really nice with Wayland now. I have been using it for a couple weeks now and things are a lot better than last year. The biggest problem I encountered was a Plasmashell memory leak that was fixed without the need for a restart. Only problem in 3 weeks, not bad, considering how things were in a not distant past.

Since Ubuntu LTS will use Wayland by default next year (fingers crossed), more and more developers are updating their apps too, which in turn makes Wayland more viable for more people.

Next year surely will be the no turning back point for Wayland adoption.

Too bad that the high CPU usage after logout/login of some apps like xdg-desktop-portal and kdeconnectd + some others has not been fixed yet.

                    On Arch:

                    Code:
                    sudo pacman -S base-devel
                    git clone https://aur.archlinux.org/skanpage-git.git
                    cd skanpage-git
                    makepkg -s
                    sudo pacman -U ska**tab completion**
That's basically a primer on how to install any AUR package manually.
