Eighteen hours since Michael Larabel posted this news about LibreOffice's brand-new release, and nary a comment?

Might it appear that people are finally getting tired of the total and complete lack of anything--even remotely of any value--in all the completely effete releases from The Document Foundation.This insanity continues after twelve years (that's right--12 years) of inept handling of this 'product'--whose only feature is that IT IS BIG? And useless.
Might it just be possible that people are finally--FINALLY--getting wise to TDF's continual flood of releases which do nothing except divert and deflect attention from the fact that TDF is really doing nothing? And has been, for a very, VERY long time.

LibreOffice's one redeeming virtue is that it makes the use of the 25 MB combination of AbiWord and Gnumeric --as outstanding replacements for this continually-crippled 600 MB relic--look like the invention of calculus.

You can safely disregard the comments of the lobotomized bigot. No worries.
There's a crapton of improvements as usual.
It was already better than MSO during OOo times, especially with the intuitivity of your actions, but the user-friendliness has vastly improved ever since (and you can pick whichever layout suits you best).

Also, the choice of icon style (and the extension to get more) can now make it way more appealing visually. Only a few years ago, the visuals would dampen many potential users' enthusiasm. There's still some way to go though.
I'm just talking about UI aspects, but there were probably some ground work too. They could of course increase the compatibility with .docx (although most sane people export docs to PDF these days) or .xlsx, but in fine it's not their responsibility to deal with the crappy MS format. They work on the compatibility to help people, but it's not an obligation.

Expected news in an office suite isn't really a bad thing. You can also install just the document editor and the spreadsheet.
