Again that's simplistic. If you go there, I could just as easily say devs only switch between a very specific and restrained set of apps.
Not being a nerd doesn't mean you don't do many different things with your computer. You just like to do your work or entertainment stuff the easy and user friendly way.

I am an average Joe and I remove both hands from the keyboard as soon as I am done typing. It's uncomfortable otherwise.

If you change a workspace, it'll change on both screens.

I don't care about virtual desktop and neither do most people.

my 6 year old daughter uses virtual desktops in gnome and i didn't teach her - she discovered them on her own. and actually i didn't teach her using gnome, she managed herself. so guess what? i don't care what you think about gnome usability

Every time I see someone saying that GNOME is a copy of Apple's design, I know that person doesn't use Apple systems or GNOME. What the hell is similar between GNOME Shell and MacOS? Rounded edges?

The initial design document for gnome 3 says so, indirectly. The people they surveyed were mostly USA students.
Wish i could find the original pdf. It just disappeared from the redhat site.
