    KDE 4.2.x looks much better than GNOME (from my point of view), but I'm still using GNOME due to the superior stability.

      Gnome crashes here. KDE doesn't. So KDE is more stable than Gnome.

        KDE > gnome purely on the fact that I hate gconf and how gnome tries to dumb things down. But I have pretty much forgone the use of KDE for awesome, once you go tiling you'll never go back.

        edit: Actually I stopped using KDE for openbox although once in a while I'd go back for one reason or another.

          I used tiling and *did* go back. It was horrible. Reminded me of Windows 3.11.
