Does Krita have anything similar to GIMP's heal transparency? It's the main thing I use GIMP for, but it's a mess since it breaks after every GIMP or Ubuntu update.

What about stability? I'm not using GIMP very often but when I do I don't want to see crashes.

It is a shame that openCL is so jacked on Linux that they decided to default it to off and hide how to enable it.

Hi, for personal reasons my PPA activities are dropped for the time being. Sorry Thorsten Take a look: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntuhandbook1/+archive/ubuntu/gimp This PPA is for Ubuntu >=18.04 and Linux Mint derivates Installing: open a terminal and type: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:otto-kesselgulasch/gimp sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install gimp Removing: open a terminal and type: sudo apt-get install ppa-purge sudo ppa-purge ppa:otto-kesselgulasch/gimp Many thanks to David Tsc...

He used to compile every version of GIMP and G'MIC for years, but now it looks like inactive PPA...
Looks like it's not maintained. I was using his devel PPA for 2.99 for a while, but it hadn't been updated in like a year, so I looked around for fresh 2.99 builds and found the AppImages linked above. I'd like something that auto-updates, but at least it's something.

Being up to date with code porting effort (Krita ported away from Qt4 ages ago) would indeed indicate software quality.
