    Phoronix: Dbus-Broker 23 Released For High Performance D-Bus

    The BUS1 API did see some activity back in March but with that in-kernel IPC mechanism not yet on approach for landing in the mainline Linux kernel, the Dbus-Broker project for a high-performance D-Bus implementation remains the best solution for the time being...

          As usual, to decide if something has "high" or "low" performance you must compare it with another thing. In this case, with the old DBus implementation.

            When old reference DBus is sent to the grave maybe (not looking like its going to be anytime soon).

            systemd replaces dbus messaging with the varlink protocol where possible BTW.

                They introduced varlink in a few new components around userdb service. It's not like they are rewriting the whole ecosystem around varlink.

                  Why would sockets be wrong abstraction and when was the last time that you looked at zero-copy socket code inside Linux kernel, Mr. Dunning-Kruger?

                    Dbus-broker is used by default in OpenMandriva. For now in Cooker and Rolling release and should be by default in upcoming LX 4.2.
