    I don't like mythfrontend, seems clunky and resistant to easy remapping of keys, i just use kodi and mythweb for setting recordings.

    In terms of the video rendering, one of the developers (who would likely be considered an expert with OpenGL) rejoined the project after a long hiatus, and the improvements were significant. There were a lot of other improvements too, some arguably very significant, but since most people primarily see the UI, they will mostly see the OpenGL improvements as the signature feature for this release.
