A big addition to OBS Studio 25.0 RC1 is support for capturing Vulkan-based games, which comes after Ubisoft helped the Open Broadcaster Software developers wire in the support.
That's Windows only fyi, we don't have game capture on Linux.

But we have XComposite, which allows to capture any window on X11. I don't know if there's performance impact, but it works perfectly, while on windows 'game capture' could stop working randomly.

I'm merely making sure the info is accurate for the phoronix audience (linux people), as Phoronix didn't mention. Just don't want people getting their hopes up over something that has nothing to do with Linux currently since as mentioned we do not have game capture.

That's true, capture via XComposite is much more compatible than capture on Windows for fullscreen. Though the performance impact is higher.

Michael should stop publishing articles about macOS, *BSD, Haiku, etc. then if all Phoronix readers are Linux people...

When I read OBS, I read Opensuse Build Service.

When I read OBS I always think of this software instead.
