Low on ram and resources actually plasma uses almost the same resources as xfce.
It's an DE of course it will have a lot dependencies and most you see there are other plasma or qt5 components that's because it's modular.

A lite qt desktop environment is good but plasma desktop is pretty light in it self but it's bigger.
