GTK is unsuitable for that purpose due to big API changes across major releases. Also apparently there is not enough demand for it in Standard Desktop camp. Everyone is welcome to fork it to its own Standard Desktop Frameworks though. Get to work

After how many releases? And for how long?
I mean, yes, frameworks should strive to be as compatible with each other as possible. But there's only so much effort one could direct to this endeavor. And afaik, GTK/Gnome doesn't give a rat's ass about Qt compatibility (I mean, they sometimes break their own compatibility with point releases), whereas KDE gets constantly called out for not rendering GTK widgets perfectly.

You are dealing with troll here, why you even bother. He basically asked for GNOME to switch to Qt.

GTK is a hot, steaming pile of garbage. Qt is the superior Framework for professionals and amateurs alike

Qt is not CLA, please get your facts right.

One of the main reason the CLA is needed is due to the agreement with the Free-Qt Foundation, that says that if Qt is ever closed sourced, or stops being maintained the last released versions becomes available under a BSD license. It wouldn't be possible to do that re-licensing without the CLA.
