Because the topic was about Ubuntu 19.10, which I think is a really great release. I love it. It is fast, and GNOME is much smoother, and it comes with updated software like PHP 7.3, Python 3.7, Blender 2.80, etc. Only negative thing about it, is the old version of Git.

It's about ZFS on Ubuntu. And complaining that a non rolling release distro doesn't have the latest and greatest version of every piece of software just shows a lack of realistic expectations no matter what topic you post it in.

This is phoronix I'm on, right?
          a) When will they GPL ZFS already!
          b) (it has already happened)
          c) Is that even relevant
          d) ...
          e) Canonical will invent their own filesystem, talk negatively about Stratis and a few years later when they can't maintain it they'll apologize and switch back to Stratis.
          f) ...

          Yes, you are.

Version-fetish is just common nature of many private Linux users. Live and let live.

Is this ZFS install option available on the daily ISO?
I just downloaded and I can't find the ZFS option... :-/

Not everything is like web applications, it's not strictly necessary to have the most latest version of everything.

Nice of you to link this to Linux users when it is a more general thing also Windows and Mac users suffer from.

Don't know about Mac users (not overly common hereabouts) and most Windows users I know personally like older W7 far more than shiny new W10.. rendering your accusation sort of void, but seeing Linux users either bitch about "old" versions of packages or crow over "freshest" is IMHO extremely common occurence.. So I am going to stick to my opinion.
