Because the topic was about Ubuntu 19.10, which I think is a really great release. I love it. It is fast, and GNOME is much smoother, and it comes with updated software like PHP 7.3, Python 3.7, Blender 2.80, etc. Only negative thing about it, is the old version of Git.

It's about ZFS on Ubuntu. And complaining that a non rolling release distro doesn't have the latest and greatest version of every piece of software just shows a lack of realistic expectations no matter what topic you post it in.

I don't know. I just want the latest so I know that it is safe, the bugs have been fixed, and I got the usability improvements, and when I look something up no the web how to do something, then the commands works.

Not everything is like web applications, it's not strictly necessary to have the most latest version of everything.

Don't know about Mac users (not overly common hereabouts) and most Windows users I know personally like older W7 far more than shiny new W10.. rendering your accusation sort of void, but seeing Linux users either bitch about "old" versions of packages or crow over "freshest" is IMHO extremely common occurence.. So I am going to stick to my opinion.
