      That quote from Epic Games founder is actually really amusing in the light they found the store to compete with Steam through platform exclusives. It makes the entire comment sound like he was scared as heck Microsoft was about to squash his quite profitable plans for future.

        Yes, it is an interesting development. Back then though, most prominently, Valve supported the very same sentiment. They even started the whole SteamOS project in fears that Microsoft would lock down the Windows gaming platform and shut out Steam. And in today's news: Microsoft is starting to release its games on Steam. Guess even while SteamOS failed, they won, after all. And who knows, the deal with Microsoft could have come around because of Valve facing competition from the Epic store.
