It seems WebRender is an almost irrelevant PR project from Mozilla, otherwise where are the benchmarks proving otherwise? Not only doesn't it outperform Chrome, it's mostly far behind.

How much of the perf difference is related to JS execution speed?

Honestly I've never heard of this benchmark.

Why haven't you checked the performance in JetStream (ex SunSpider), Octane, and Kraken? What about the Windows versions of these web browsers?

I've also found these tests:

Michael did you disable debug options for beta and alpha? ( JSGC_DISABLE_POISONING=1 ) there's async stack in about:config too, they add significant overhead to the performance

True! They gave us Rust to play with in the meanwhile...

It'd be interesting to see how these two compare on windows and if the benchmarks are similar there. FF doesn't seem to care much about linux.
