    Canon, Nikon. Canon, Nikon.

    ALWAYS Canon and Nikon.

Why is there always nothing for Pentax or Panasonic?

A lot of the functionality was already available via gphoto2?

Have you stopped to think why that's the case? Also, Sony gets plenty of attention too.

Pentax support is coming. The Ricoh Camera SDK was released around the middle of last year, so it will take time - probably a year or two - for Pentax cameras to get incorporated into libgphoto2, as you need people and hardware to test, which is not an easy thing to do with Pentax due to their very low market-share. As for Panasonic cameras beyond the GH5, they have not released any SDK for their Lumix cameras and I don't know if that will ever change, given how low and niche their market-share is.
