As a GNOME user, I'm pretty happy about Canonical's refocus on GNOME for Ubuntu; my Fedora desktop will be very happy with more optimization support.

I don't believe Canonical will put any relevant effort in Gnome as well as its desktop version, it has almost abandoned Ubuntu desktop relying for it everything, with very few exceptions, to the upstream version.

Hmm, new user, and the same writing style. Is this the return of 'Griffin', aka 'GhostOfFunk'?

EDIT: Looks like it is. All 30+ posts have the same writing style, and are exclusively about Gnome being the 'standard desktop'.

More like a desktop to be forked by all...

Will 3.28 receive these improvements or will it be reserved to 3.30?

Good. Now, instead of being just a brick, GNOME will become a brick with wheels.

Hopefully it'll get wings in the next stable release.

I presume 3.30 because as far as I understand, stable releases only get bug fixes that don't include behavior changes.
