    We are currently 12 blocker bugs away from making the final release. We’ll do our best to make it quick!
    Hopefully that will happen soon. It's about time we see a new GIMP.

        They'll finally migrate to GTK3 once GTK4 has deprecated it

          Probably, but moving to GTK4 will be way easier. There are bigger issues in my opinion, like not being able to use non-sRGB working spaces in gegl operations (but it's being worked on). I really like how Gimp is shaping up, there are MUCH more improvements under the hood than you can imagine.

            FYI GTK1 was actually an acronym for 'GIMP Toolkit'.

              GTK3 may still be the responsible choice here unless GTK4 doesn't change much throughout its lifetime as GTK3 did.

                I think i once read here a very funny irony that goes something like:

                "we're announcing the creation of the Gimp ToolKit"
                and a few year's later the same guys that invented the Gimp ToolKit (GTK) are happy saying they're
                "finally planing on migrating to the latest version of GTK3"

                It's ironic!!! LOL

                Anyway somewhere between:

                Gimp 2.8--------------------------------------------> Gimp 2.10
                |
                A few folks migrated to Krita (me included)

                Come on guys, If gimp is to stand a chance you need to speed up those releases

                  Well, English is not my native language, but I do vaguely recall from my English lessons that "a few" is interchangeable with 2 or 3, but certainly not with 20.

                    Not my native language either, man!!! =)
                    But if those who's English is their native language do commit grammatical suicide, i think they'll forgive me for a "few" mistakes here and there... LOL ;p
