Good news. Clear out the cruft. Mir is a hobbyist project now. No need to bloat GTK with it any longer. Looking forward to GTK+ 4 !

Which contradicts his point how exactly? The developers who were assigned to toolkit support at Canonical wasted a lot of time supporting the NIH project of Mir, when Canonical could have been not stupid and just stuck with advancing wayland. In fact everyone would probably be far better off if they had.

I'm fairly certain "toolkit developers" was referring to GTK devs in general, and not Canonical devs.

Waste of time for whom? The developers who wrote the code were paid to do it. That's not wasted time at all; being paid to do work is called earning a living.
