      GhostBSD is pretty good if you want a well put together desktop on FreeBSD without the hassle and your not a fan of some of the changes TrueOS has made. Generally it's vanilla but there are some desktop tweaks here and there. Turning FreeBSD thats generally a server OS into a desktop is somewhat of an involved process, it's not "hard" but you kinda have to know a few obscure things. You could say it's maybe what Redcore or Sabayon is to Gentoo but a little more vanilla than those. Pretty sure anything that would work on FreeBSD applies to GhostBSD.
