yes, it is, no matter how you slice it. it uses wine code so it is same compatibility layer as wine. and win32 itself is compatibility layer over ntkernel.

you can interpolate. it failed to produce win95 in 20 years, windowses are dying faster than reactos is being developed.

instead of just developing wine. so smart...

It uses wine code for its Win32 replacement APIs. It doesn't use wine directly. Big difference.
Furthermore, you're apparently blissfully ignorant of the fact that Win32 is a kernel mode subsystem. To compare it to wine performancewise is quite laughable.

20 years ago, it was much more difficult to organise and manage an open source project. ReactOS is making much more progress in a way shorter time than FreeWin95 ever had.

Nowhere did he say he didn't like GNU/Linux. However, there are plenty of reasons not to use it. It's not a one size fits all. Just like Windows isn't. Just like Mac OS X isn't.

wine also uses wine code for its Win32 replacement APIs. same shit.

you're apparently blissfully ignorant of what 'abstraction layer' means

they are slower now relatively to win10 than 20 years ago relatively to win95.

he said he doesn't want to use linux. he does not want to use it so much that his brain stopped and istead of using(and improving) one of alternatives he started wasting his life on coding windows monstrocity which will never work

Is it really so wrong to try to develop something unusual? You make it sound like ReactOS should never have even started! I think if you have an interesting idea you should go with it! Isn't that how Linux got started in the first place? It probably looked hopeless for a while, but now it is MORE than a viable alternative to Windows

Sure going to screw any future marketing in the US though.. it's hardly comforting to enterprise server types who are very risk averse

That is the silliest thing I've ever heard. Nobody is going to run ReactOS on an "enterprise" server.

Why?! I managed a server at work run run several VM with Windows. Many of those Windows systems run just a few programs and it would make perfect sense to run those simple server programs (that require Windows) in a Windows like platform without having to care about those licenses. ReactOS is in this case very interesting to run on those VM's as a direct replacement for Windows.
