IMHO its breaking expectations what counts. I.e. if you claim "its secure!" and then it turns out there're numerous security issues, you'll face uproar.

Funnily, i had to thing about the bold claims of the Linux fanboys.
Huh? What do you have to do? Funny typo .

    Btw,
    1) Fanboys are full of bullshit. So it is better idea to consider devs claims I guess.
    2) Linux has got some fancy "cheat". You see, Linux is just a kernel. I would have hard time to remember exploitable remote code execution in kernel in last few years, etc. Everything else isn't Linux but "3rd party software" and have to be blamed separately. Furthermore, user-mode software in question would expose same security prob's when running in other OSes as well . OTOH BSDs claim they're full blown OSes, so its safe to blame 'em for all bugs in their deafult user mode software either.

Sure, its some "cheating" because you wouldn't get too far with bare kernel . And speaking for myself I actually like this separation. I can build systems I need in flexible ways. I like it.
