Phoronix: GhostBSD 10.1 Now In Alpha For A FreeBSD-Powered MATE Desktop

The first alpha release of GhostBSD 10.1 is now available, which is based on PC-BSD and FreeBSD. This BSD operating system also desires to deliver a first-rate desktop experience while setting it apart is the use of the GNOME2-forked MATE desktop environment by default...

Due due GhostBSD uses FreeBSD packages and sources, it was already possible to do a freebsd-update -r 10.1-RELEASE upgrade from GhostBSD (but I don't say the result was very stable).
I have used FreeBSD 10.1 in a virtual machine, and after I have installed MATE, the result was bad.
I have remplaced FreeBSD 10.1 by GhostBSD 4.0 and MATE works like a charm (but VirtualBox Guest Additions sucks). It's great for GhostBSD's version bump.

    Good.
