FreeBSD 14.2-RC1 Brings Install Image Improvements

Phoronix: FreeBSD 14.2-RC1 Brings Install Image Improvements

Ahead of FreeBSD 14.2 hopefully releasing in just over one week, FreeBSD 14.2-RC1 is out this weekend as the last planned development release for testing ahead of that much anticipated point release...

    Cool

Small tip: You can burn/dd FreeBSD DVD images to USB no problem! (it's mentioned in Announce posts or at least for 14.1's) For just installing though the memstick-specific image is fine.

[!WARNING] The FreeBSD port of the Podman container engine is experimental and should be used for evaluation and testing purposes only.

The OCI images can be imported into local Podman container storage using
      'podman load':

      % podman load --input ./FreeBSD-<version>-<arch>-container-image-minimal.txz
It may be interesting to test this.
