FreeBSD graphics drivers are pretty much the same as the Linux drivers - they are ported from linux using linuxkpi.

Okay, I've tried it. It doesn't even boot on my old laptop, causing CPU to hang completely (I can tell be slowly blinking Caps which indicates CPU freeze), requiring physical power off and power on again. I've tried all available safe mode and other options.
It never goes further than initial boot menu, after that it's only text console with garbled screen where nothing can be read, it's just all messed up, most likely because wrong screen resolution is chosen.
Hardware is HP Probook, AMD A8-4500M APU with 8GB RAM. On Linux, everything was working out of the box in in this laptop since I bought it second hand like 5 years ago.
