What a moronic a cultist statement. People who sponsor or donate money are free to choose what they wish to support, it's not yours to decide. Besides it's not a zero sum game. I also guess that FreeBSD chiefly caters for different users than Linux: the donators may want to see FreeBSD being developed because they have requirements that Linux wouldn't fit. And what is the problem anyway? Linux development or the related projects are not exactly cash starved, are they.

The fact you're preferring Linux doesn't mean that nobody uses BSD.

I assume some of this money is from Netflix who uses FreeBSD on servers, not Linux.

Commercially speaking, FreeBSD is the most popular OS. It is used as the core OS for many consumer products and is the backbone of many server environments.

I think it sucks that they only raised enough funds to essentially pay the salary of a dev for one year and , maybe, hook 'em up with a used workstation.
