NomadBSD 1.3 Released To Offer A Pleasant FreeBSD 12.1 Based Desktop Experience

Even though their site specifically says it is ("NomadBSD is a persistent live system for USB flash drives, based on FreeBSD^®"), I just can't see it.

It is persistent, it is live, it is a system and they want you to install it on USB flash drives, it is also based on FreeBSD. It all checks out.

You just need a decent USB drive, bought in the last few years and not in 2009.

To be fair, I think their main reason to target USB is because it makes easy to use it on a PC that would normally have Windows on it, without doing dangerous things like re-partitioning the drive and setting up a dualboot.

As we all said, with modern flash drives you have plenty of space, and USB 3.0 is fast enough for most storage. There is no need to touch the hard drive at all.
