If you can take the GUI off of MacOS, you would still have a usable BSD. This is not true of WSL.

It's not only some of the userland. The kernel is based on an older version of the FreeBSD Kernel. There are drivers and stacks, such as the TCP/IP stack, that are based on the FreeBSD kernel. The Messaging Mac OS uses is based on the original Mach experiments in FreeBSD kernel. Mac OS is a BSD, based on FreeBSD. It used to support the UFS disk format for this reason.

Nope, you would not have usable BSD. It does not have BSD kernel to begin with, incl bunch of other non-BSD stuff.

Linux's and Windows's TCP stacks originated also from BSD. I am not aware of single driver in FreeBSD originating from Mac. Kinda hard to have one from closed-source OS.

OSX has full rewrite behind it in regard of it's kernel. It's it's own kernel. As FreeBSD has no other relation besides history to AT&T Unix - which was made real through the hard way, court case. Everything was wholly rewritten to remove all and every LOC from AT&T Unix.

You cannot convincingly prove what you are trying to claim.
