An ambitious project. Hope it's able to get somewhere. Steam on NetBSD is one thing but as the the Steam on FreeBSD project has shown in the past, it doesn't mean most games on Steam will work. In fact, IIRC only a few Valve Linux games worked on FreeBSD and without any sound. The Linux ABI translation layer has to be fairly modern and advanced for solid support.

A better effort would be to advance Wine support to FreeBSD and Linux support levels, including porting Vulkan, D9VK and DXVK to properly support the latest games. Most big AAA titles are skipping Linux now that Proton is working well and in many cases better than a half-assed native port would.

NetBSD's Linux ABI is based on OpenSuSE 13.1, FreeBSD's on CentOS6 (tho '7' can be used).
