      No it's more like a Linux distro with a different kernel.

      Linux distros are "OS building frameworks" too. You can assemble stuff on top of the kernel depending on your needs.

      Genode uses a microkernel and a more modern approach than Linux, as it's designed for isolation and sandboxing of everything. It does not make differences between drivers and userspace applications.

      It's relatively similar to what people think SystemD OS would be, as the kernel is acting as an init and doing a lot of policing and tracking to keep everything isolated.
