        I don't see a reason why I'd want to switch to Windows Server 2016 except to have a desktop experience for configuring a server with a domain controller through a graphical user interface, including DHCP server.

        Nah... Linux with OpenStack through conjure-up is fine for me.

          OK, so you can run Mono (.NET), Wine ("some" Apps), NDISwrapper for drivers but not Windows services in Ubuntu Server (at least not with out KVM). So do we need a full Windows Services Layer for Linux? I am being somewhat sarcastic here, but if we can grow oranges on apple trees now (WSL), maybe the reverse is possible? (but not desirable).
