    It looks nice, I just hope the white background will be... less white, thanks.

      Looks nice, just make sure it works well on mobile devices. Also logo at the top should be a hyperlink to the main page.

        I would have mentionned this too, if only the web was not already 99% unbearably white, forcing me to apply a custom stylesheet to every web site there is.

          In firefox, if you go to Options > Content there is a section for fonts and colours. It's not perfect, but it lets you override the background and text colours.

            Yes, thanks but I?ve used this for a while and found that stylish with midnight surfing was a much better solution overall.

              Problems like this can be solved with HTML5/CSS3 using media queries. Media queries look for:
              * width and height (of the browser window)
              * device width and height
              * orientation ? for example is a phone in landscape or portrait mode?
              * resolution

              Using all this info, the page is re-aligned to look really nice no matter what device or window size one has. Take a look at http://metronews.ca/ and see how it looks just by resizing your window. At virtually any size, the site is very readable and visually very appealing. IMHO, this is the best way to design a website, considering the wide variety of screen sizes today.

                That scales interestingly to low resolutions. Not so to high ones, there is way too much unused space and text is too compressed for the amount of blank space there is on the side.

                  That is correct about the web page I linked to, however, assuming I understand this correctly, one can make it use that space for higher resolutions as well. See http://www.makersquarter.com/ for a better example. Also http://www.awwwards.com/websites/responsive-design/ has some websites that resize to very low and very high resolutions equally well.

                      previous / next

                      The website always looked uncool , tired and oldish.
                      But I'm more about the content. The new look is not bad. mbit suggestions are great.

                      now that you're overhauling that, I'd like to express a couple of wishes to improve the readability of articles:
                      1. put a link to PREVIOUS/NEXT ARTICLE at the end of each article page. I'm reading once every 2 days, so at least a dozen unread articles stack up since the last visit, and I don't like to go back to home page each time.
                      2. put a decent/modern image gallery browser. Like those popping up on a semitransparent black, complete with PREVIUOS / NEXT image arrow link. Oh, and choose one of those viewers maximizing/fitting the image size to the browser screen! It's unbelievably annoying to bounce back and forth the main article just to browse the attached figures!!!!!!

                      have a nice coding/designing
