    Phoronix: 2010 Linux Graphics Survey

    For the past three years we have hosted an annual Linux Graphics Survey in which we ask tens of thousands of users each time their video card preferences, driver information, and other questions about their view of the Linux graphics stack. This year we are hosting the survey once again to allow the development community to get a better understanding of the video hardware in use, what open-source and closed-source drivers are being used, and other relevant information that will help them and the Linux community.

    Phoronix, Linux Hardware Reviews, Linux hardware benchmarks, Linux server benchmarks, Linux benchmarking, Desktop Linux, Linux performance, Open Source graphics, Linux How To, Ubuntu benchmarks, Ubuntu hardware, Phoronix Test Suite

    It's always difficult figuring out which range widescreen resolutions fall into. I have a 160x1050 monitor, is that bigger or smaller than 1600x1200? Same with my 1366x768 (IIRC) laptop monitor. Is that bigger or smaller than 1280x1024?

    Maybe Michael should clarify that for next year?

      1600*1200 = 1.9M
      1600*1050 = 1.7M
      -> 1600x1200 > 1600x1050

      1280*1024 = 1.3M
      1366*768 = 1.0M
      -> 1280x1024 > 1366x768

        Many questions in the survey are lacking the important answer option: "Given up many years ago trying to setup all that."
