Phoronix Forums Upgrade - Helping To Improve Site Responsiveness

Phoronix: Phoronix Forums Upgrade - Helping To Improve Site Responsiveness

This morning I rolled out upgraded forum software to improve the forum experience and also hopefully help the overall Phoronix.com site performance with the database server being hammered recently from the forums...

Phoronix, Linux Hardware Reviews, Linux hardware benchmarks, Linux server benchmarks, Linux benchmarking, Desktop Linux, Linux performance, Open Source graphics, Linux How To, Ubuntu benchmarks, Ubuntu hardware, Phoronix Test Suite

Is it just me or are the "number of likes" completely gone with the new forum software?

I've also seen a strange message in the message center: "0 users interacted with your post"

Update: The "Like" button is missing and the "Quote" button takes a very long time to execute.

      Same for me.
And the "Quote" button takes a lot of time for me.

I think Michael is still pushing some settings/adjusting things at the moment as it's pretty unstable for me at the moment. Probably best to be a bit patient right now.

The Like buttons are gone from all posts. I wonder if Likes and other forms of community interaction will go the way of Premium.

Just still dealing with some Apache/MariaDB issues.... Hoping to get it under control soon.

I think XenForo is overhyped a bit. As far as I can tell, it's not all that different from any other traditional forum software written in PHP like MyBB or vBulletin and it's not like it's a fresh codebase either. Then again I've not run a forum in a long time, so take that as somebody who simply uses many forums. I've seen them all be snappy or slow as hell.

Speaking of forums though, wtf ever happened to NodeBB? It had a huge boom in usage/popularity for like 5 years then disappeared off the face of the earth.

easy solution, stop posting rust content and x11 content xD. All in all, the new forum look I find is odd but fine. Hopefully the upgrade is nice
                    ...
now swap to a rust based forum software
