Congratulations Michael, thank you for all your work in keeping this site going. I hope you find a way to keep it going for many more anniversaries.

As an aside, this is one of a very small number of sites I pay for explicitly. I lurked for a long time before deciding this was one of the few places on the Internet worth sending money to. So I did. And a large part of the value is the comments by experienced and knowledgeable readers - it is not just a collection of vacuous, poorly re-edited press releases, which is what many other news-sites appear to be.

"Phoronix turns 19 years old for covering Linux hardware" means that covering Linux hardware is the physical cause for Phoronix turning 19 years old. That statement does not make any god damn sense. Time goes by on its own, there is no driving cause for it.
Phoronix is also known for 19 years of neckbeard literalists whose goal in life is to nitpick mundane details that anybody with basic social skills (beyond yelling at their mother from the basement) would get the gist of.
Sure, maybe the title doesn't make sense if treated literally, but we all understand what Michael was trying to say.

Happy birthday, Phoronix! As I've tinkered with Caldera Linux and SUSE back in the day, and didn't even get a sound card to work back then, it has been quite a journey to where Linux stands today. Also Michael's compiler testing and regression hunts are legendary. Thanks for all of your dedicated work!

Congratulations! I always liked your Linux news, PTS and the forum! On one of your pictures i saw Splashtop... was really fun to hack it several years ago. I hope you stay well and have fun with everything you created! The last years I had been busy with work, but I still look at your news.

Thanks Michael for all you do sir! You run the BEST opensource news website out there! Your benchmark work is stellar too! I'm blown away. Been following this website since before I was in high school, through 6 years of grad school, and two attempts at grad school, out into my profession of being a System administrator.
