  • Site Freezes Firefox

For a few days now I notice that opening articles on the phoronix.com website completely freezes Firefox for up to 10 seconds. That happens on both my Windows and my Linux Desktops.
On both systems I have advertising enabled to support the site (which is sometimes tough with the embedded ad videos), but did not notice any freezing before.
Any Ideas what could cause this?

Hmmm haven't experienced this with Firefox on Ubuntu or Fedora, anyone else?

To add a bit more detail:
HW on both systems is similar: Ryzen 5000 CPUs, one 550 one 570 chip-set MSI MB, both 32 GB RAM.
The Linux system is Arch, Plasma Wayland with RADV driver for Vega 64.
Windows is W11pro with RX 580.

I cannot clearly reproduce the freezes as they occur rather randomly.
I will post updates if can find a pattern.

I guess the freezes were related to blocking the Autoplay Video function. Allowing phoronix to autoplay seems to work so far.

Definitely no more issues allowing video autoplay.
