I find that interesting, can that work with a minimal memory footprint?
Though, imagine if you did some grid computing that computes something actually useful (yet light on data, like 1MB for code and data).
But whatever is done, it would be apropos if it ran with librejs, i.e. be made of free and open source javascript (or web assembly)

Damn. I missed that. I was out on a whisky tasting in Spa instead this weekend.

I second the suggestion to LiberaPay. Patreon does not offer anything worthwhile over LiberaPay or other payment methods.

About ads: I think that if a website pays for hosting and content, and I pay nothing in return, it is just fair that I view ads for it. But Phoronix lately makes this very difficult to uphold this by using non-dismissable floating ads that cover part of the page and cause CPU utilization to reach 100%. I wonder how often Michael browses his own website and forums with ads enabled that he sees how bad it is.

Do you have any screenshots and URLs of the ads that you say are so bad? Anything that is obtrusive I block but first I need to see what are the misbehaving ads and need to be able to track them down.

Yes, I posted the screenshot in the "Advertisements on Phoronix" thread about a month ago. URLs are a bit difficult to get.

Edit: The most obnoxious of the ads uses a floating frame which points to
            Code:

Unfortunately without the ad it's next to impossible to track down since I don't know what ad network it comes from and let alone the domain to ultimately block. In this case it's Tribal Fusion which is the ad network but unfortunately that ad URL seems to be a generic one not indicating the underlying ad.

Will try blocking skiamade.com with Tribal to see if that fixes it.
