  • getting error while running phoronix-test-suite benchmark fio

    hello everyone,


    I am very new to linux.

    I need to use phoronix-test-suite to perform some kind of benchmark tests for imx6 board.
    i have kernel image which includes phoronix-test-suit package.But when i try to run phoronix-test-suite benchmark fio then i got the following error.

    You don't have a compiler toolchain setup on your distribution.... What OS are you running?

      i am using yocto linux distribution

        Okay, so once installing gcc/automake/etc on Yocto, the test should work. PTS currently doesn't auto-install these packages on Yocto.

          Thanks alot..2 more things i don not understand is :
          -what is difference between modules and suites in phoronix test suite?
          -How long thes tests will run?

            suites are collections of test profiles. modules are extensions to pts-core functionality.

            It all depends on the test and how powerful your system is for how long it will take... Many will run within few minutes, others could take up to an hour based on factors.
