  • fio using specifying multiple devices to stress test

I know with the user-config.xml file is where you can specify the target direct/device to test but how does one specify multiple devices to stress when kicking off a test?

What test(s) are you talking about? Some of them like sqlite should offer range of targets to test, but otherwise you would just need to change the mount point between test runs.

fio was what I was talking about. Is there a way to increase the number of mountpoints run during a single test run instead of having to change it during subsequent runs?

Not at the moment there isn't a streamlined way of doing so but if your company is interested, I could add the support via a custom engineering agreement, etc.

When maintaining hundreds of different test profiles for the Phoronix Test Suite, I don't have the time to expose every tunable offered by every upstream test that's why only the most very relevant options are exposed for a given test by default in terms of the test profiles I've written (and also not wanting to overload users with too many different options), but they can be easily extended and patches are happily accepted upstream.
