Michael? Can I suggest phoronix to be partnership with http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/ for network benchmarking? smallnetbuilder is the most professional tester in this, but it covers only retail Routers/switches/wireless devices.

Do you have plan in benchmarking netfilter/iptable performance among different kernel versions? I think many linux users are also router DIYers.

If someone contributes or sponsors a test profile for such a test, would be happy to do the benchmarking on different kernels.
