  • openbenchmark.org registration not working

    Hello,

I tried to register for an account on openbenchmark.org, but it fails with an "unknown error occured" (see screenie below). Is there anything that can be done?

    Thank you for your time!

    Cheers,
    Jan Henkins

Likely if you are using any non-ASCII characters in your username or potentially some excessively long password or so might trigger that error.

      Hello Michael,

      Thank you for replying.

I double-checked whether it is as you suggested, but I cannot see any non-ascii characters. I have also played with different length passwords ranging from a minimum 4 to a maximum 8, but nothing worked.

      Regards,

Anything longer than 8? IIRC, the minimum limit is ~6

          Hello Michael,

I have tested it with 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8-char password lengths (also avoiding special characters as a precaution), all with the same error.

Anyway, no matter - while it would have been great to use openbenchmark, I found that it is possible to export test results into PDF documents which will do me fine for what I need.

          Cheerio,
          Jan Henkins

Hmmm strange, but yeah some known odd bugs in OB registration/login handling albeit not enough time to deal with it....

But, yes, the only real reason for OpenBenchmarking.org registration is if needing to upload your own test suites / test profiles you make. For everything else you can easily do locally, on OB without registering, etc....
