Games missing a test in Phoronix

There are plenty of games with benchmarks that do not seem to have a test in Phoronix. Is it because no-one just haven't gotten around writing one or for technical reasons (e.g. can't run benchmark from CLI)?

Some of the games:

• War Thunder,
• Alien Isolation,
• GRID: Autosport,
• Borderlands 2,
• Left 4 Dead 2,
• Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor,
• Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War 2,
• GTA V,
• Total War: Rome II,
• Hitman 2,
• Strange Brigade,
• Mortal Combat X,
• Batman: Arkham Origins,
• Devil May Cry 4

I own some of these games so I might have a crack at some point if the test are possible to create at all so does anyone have insight into these games?

From a quick look, many of those games unfortunately don't have benchmark controls accessible via the command line. If you do find CLI controls, please advise and I am happy to help working on such test profiles. A few of the games like Strange Bridgame, MNortal Combat, Dow2, Borderlands2, Rom2, are the ones I don't believe I've tried yet.

War Thunder, Alien Isolation, Shadow of Mordor, don't have CLI controls that I remember.

Arkham Origins is already in PTS.

GTA V and Hitman 2 I've been looking at and interested in but have ran into problems.

Oops, accidentally included AO in that list. I also just remembered why I haven't tested Borderlands 2: it requires some hex editing which seems a bit excessive: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfil.../?id=881099040.

I installed Rome2 (it requires Wine) but can't get any help with the parameters and Google doesn't help either. Neither could I find anything useful with a hex editor. Anything else I can try?

and then looking at that output to see if there is any '--benchmark' or similar arguments shown.

I don't know what L4D2 did on that list. I created my list of benchmarkable Linux games originally from https://xsreviews.co.uk/news/games-w...hmark-your-pc/ and comparing with ProtonDB but now I can't find it on that list. I did actually find "benchmark" and assorted stuff in the L4D2 libraries but adding that as a launch parameter did zilch.

Interestingly enough, ME: Shadow of Mordor seems to have some sort of benchmark template in the binary but I couldn't find a way to dump it. Running the benchmark inside the game doesn't seem to produce any files that I could find.

Looks like there are a few new games that could well have a benchmark. Shadow of Tomb Raider might have as Rise has one. Metro Exodus is another good possibility as is Civ VI: Gathering Storm.
