  • Issue Benchmarking Mad Max

Hey gang, I'm fairly new to PTS but have successfully run many tests and LOVE this tool. I'm planning to use it extensively for future Linux articles at Forbes.

One of the problems I'm having is getting the Mad Max benchmark to run properly -- on any system. My current system is the Intel Hades Canyon NUC with Ubuntu 18.10.
The pre-test script runs, and I assume that engages the benchmark mode in the Feral launcher. Then Mad Max launches and just sits on the opening splash screen ("Press Any Button."

I've confirmed the game works normally. I've tried both OpenGL and Vulkan benchmarks. The result is the same regardless of test options.

Any help is greatly, greatly appreciated.

Does phoronix-test-suite debug-run madmax show any indications? If other Steam tests are working for you, does nuking ~/.local/share/feral-interactive/madmax (or whatever that folder ends up being in there) help? That would be my only idea off the top of my head. MadMax test profile works fine for me so would then think it could be something in that local/share folder with your game causing issues.

Or come to think of it, did you activate the Feral beta for MadMax with the Vulkan renderer? Forgot if they ever merged that (which also has the benchmarking support) into stable or was permanently in their public beta branch

Thanks Michael for the suggestions. Sadly, no joy.

Here are some answers for you:
      1: PasteBin link for phoronix-test-suite debug-run madmax output: https://pastebin.com/y5Hx6CFs
      2: Deleting the ~/.local/share/feral-interactive/madmax folder didn't make a difference.
3: There is no beta channel available for Mad Max so they must have merged it into the main release.

Here's the code 'livelongandprosper' https://steamcommunity.com/app/23414...4299543712513/ for the Mad Max beta as it's hidden by default but not on Steam at moment to verify if it's still needed.
