"Now developers can code using their mobile on-the-go and seamlessly continue the task on a larger display with Samsung DeX." Do they really talk about CODING on-the-go, like in writing a code on the mobile device with on screen keyboard of a smartphone ? I find this really hardcore idea ...

Well. Everybody above a entry level Linux user can manage it to setup a chroot environment and use it on any android phone. Canonical could have made it to add the user interface part by writing an app which may or may not require root. Even if it had required root it still would have been more useful than writing mir to avoid potential licensing issues of a future project without proof of concept. I hope they will focus their resources better in future.

I think their marketing department has a very fuzzy understanding of what developers do and what Linux desktop is.

"True developers" use macbooks, so the 700$ phone + dock + stuff might be more powerful, cheaper, and have more ports.

Hipsters, the new frontier is here.

It either will be a kvm or a linux container using knox. chroot is not exactly something you want to use, as only adds complexity and nothing is contained.
Either will be fine and capable of forwarding vulkan graphics calls.

With no ability to update the kernel and blobs, this is not a great idea.

No, you're thinking about all-in-ones or mini PCs.

So, will they develop native drivers, or it will use libhybris?

Announcement said they will use the stock samsung linux kernel.
So probably libhybris. (Unless Tizen uses as special GNU/Linux-friendly kernel+drivers pack that is different from the Android one).

                  Speaking of which :

Motorola and Asus and Canonical will look forward to see another one commercial fail with this.

I'm waiting for Jolla to open source Sailfish, like forever.
