I love it. It's the best gift you can make for people who have smashed up their computer.

      So, identical to that TERES-I?

Not identical, but not a whole lot better. But this is specifically why I want a different GPU.

For around $40 more, there's the RPi laptop. RPi supports up to 256 GB SD cards, you can plug in GB ethernet with a USB dongle. The GPU has excellent speed.

True, but RPi has even less RAM, and the laptops I've seen are pretty chunky. I have legitimately considered those, though.

I'm sure there are ~$300 models with better performance, but worse battery life and/or more heat.

Hence why I want a different chip. But there are ARM SoCs with decent drivers, if you're willing to use closed-source (which I am). The thing is, even the closed Mali drivers aren't that good, at least in my experience.
Yes. There are definitely better alternatives. And while not perfect, they do work. While i'd rather have open source, i have nothing against quality closed source drivers.

The million dollar question is: what are you going to do when it malfunctions?

The same as you'll do with a TERES-I? Fix it yourself or junk it.
