Not sure if every frame is perfect though. I get tearing with the default -vo opengl.
It does support wayland, but with the 0.26 release they switched the default backend back to x11 (with means it uses XWayland under wayland) because wayland is still to "amateurish": https://github.com/mpv-player/mpv/co...54066a01acd982

Also hardware decoding under wayland without xwayland currently only works with vaapi on intel hardware. Gallium based drivers don't support the necessary VA-EGL-Interop yet.

I'm trying hard for finding reason in regard to calling Gnome-MPV front-end as awesome.

When you compare that with iina, Gnome-MPV is like from ancient medieval ages

Update: corrected MPV as Gnome-MPV, my bad.

I'm curious. What exactly makes IINA's UI so much better in your eyes? Looking at the screenshots, I don't see anything I haven't seen before. It does however fail at one of it's core jobs apparently, when you look at: https://lhc70000.github.io/iina/images/sc/pl.png
What use is a Playlist where you can't differentiate the entries, because the file names have been shortened and only the equal parts are left? And that's from their own marketing material...

Can mpv auto deinterlace videos yet? Players like mpc-hc or even totem can auto detect and apply deint filter. It is annoying having manually press 'd' in mpv. Otherwise best playa out ther.
