They can launch all the OpenGL versions they want. But why?...
Because there are a lot of softwares/games/game engines/etc that are built with OpenGL and will take years before they are migrated to Vulkan, if ever. It's easier for those existing softwares to be updated to benefit from a newer OpenGL version than to be migrated to Vulkan. Some apps or app versions might be still in use but not expected to stay long enough to be worth migrating to Vulkan, or it might not be financially viable to port them to Vulkan.

He, he, be brave. I see two slavs there and today is St. Vitus day... slavs spoke only truth on that day even if they don't want

It wouldn't surprise me if this version is basically just a collection involving mostly stuff from the "Other Extensions" that you'd find in mesamatrix.
Yeah. I'm betting intel will be first to support 4.6 under linux.

He, he, they removed it there from patchwork, but is still on mesa-dev list log:

                  https://lists.freedesktop.org/archiv...ne/161256.html

Why they even trying to hide it

If appears opengl 4.6 as many chances as always nvidia propietary shows supported first (maybe next beta driver ?)

After this maybe intel or amd can add support, however in this point which stay first opengl AZDO extensions completed or hypothetical opengl 4.6 ?

And most important for when appears driver completed: opengl AZDO and 4.6, maybe in some place finish 2018 or begin 2019 ?

Well, that developer probably did violate their NDA not that anyone will probably bother seeking compensation
