          No language that I know make it possible for the letters "ananas" sound like "pineapple"

          Using the portuguese phonemes you have "anãnas" and "painépol"

          It simple doesn't match >.<

              Ananas is the word for pineapple in most languages. It just English that is pronoucing ananas weird.

                Ananas is the name of that fruit in the indigenous sudamerican language, the language used in the place that fruit came from.

                Most languages just use the same name, English does not for some reason.

                Also "banana" comes from the original name it had in the indigenous language.

                    Not just english. Here in Brazil (we speak portuguese) we call it "abacaxi".
