How many games do you know that were written natively in OpenGL for Windows and Linux?
Of those, how many stress the GPU enough to make a meaningful GPU driver comparison?
Windows vs Linux information for a taxing game like Deus Ex is relevant to a GPU buyer... 300 vs 350 fps in OpenArena is not.

Given Microsoft's Windows 10 Creators Update earlier this month and the never-ending advancements to the open-source Linux graphics driver stack along with the recent release of Ubuntu 17.04, here are some fresh benchmarks of Windows 10 vs. Ubuntu Linux when running a wide variety of cross-platform games with an AMD Radeon RX 580 and R9 Fury graphics cards.

better than half performance everywhere. This means that, in a 500$ PC build, the money saved from using Linux instead of Windows can go to upgrading the CPU from a Pentium 4560 to a FX-6300 and the GPU from a 4GB RX470 to an 8GB RX480. Or maybe keep the Pentium and get a 6GB 1060.
This means that when games become more broadly available on Linux, Microsoft is going to have to slash the price of Windows for system builders.
